Dr. Christopher G. Caruk
Dr. Christopher Caruk was born and raised in Edmonton. He has been serving the Sherwood area for over 30 years. Like many children, Dr. Caruk had braces to straighten his teeth, so regular trips to the dentist were part of life. The field interested him, so he chose it as his career. He graduated from the University of Alberta with degrees in Science and Dentistry. He was a Clinical Instructor at the University of Alberta Dental School for 13 years in Children’s Dentistry, Radiology and Removable Dentures. He served as the dental chair at Sign of Hope Charity for 20 years, coached both his kids in hockey, and became a scout leader for his volunteering work. He is a member of the Alberta Dental Association and the Canadian Dental Association.
Dr. Caruk is happily married with two children and a Berne doodle puppy, Wile E. He enjoys running, exercising, working in the yard, reading and cooking (but not cleaning). He enjoys working with his hands, but his favourite part of dentistry is talking to and getting to know other people in the community.
Mia
Registered Dental Hygienist
Mia has worked at Brush Dental since 2008. She graduated from the University of Alberta in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science, Dental Hygiene Specialization. She is originally from Saskatchewan and loves to talk to her patients about anything Saskatchewan-related, especially the Roughriders. She enjoys yoga, barre fitness classes and spending time with her family and her Australian Labradoodle, Finn.
Darcy
Registered Dental Hygienist
Darcy has worked at Brush Dental since 2019. Darcy has loved working as a dental hygienist for the past ten years. She taught clinical dental hygiene at the University of Alberta. Darcy enjoys renovations, piano, guitar, kayaking and cycling. Her favourite time is spent around a fire with friends, family and her three dogs.
Deanna
Registered Dental Assistant
Deanna has worked alongside Dr. Caruk since 2006. She grew up in Sherwood Park (Dr. Caruk has been her dentist since she was 16!) Deanna enjoys working with all patients and has a flair for working with nervous young children to help them feel at ease. She loves to be outdoors in the mountains, skiing, biking and hiking with her husband and two very active boys. Her other favourite times are spent with her family, friends and her Havanese dog, Taz.
Susan
Registered Dental Assistant / Administrator
Susan has been working at Brush Dental since 2017. She grew up on a farm near Derwent, Alberta and has been a dental assistant for 25 years. Susan travelled to Guatemala on a dental mission and serves as clinic coordinator for the National Dental Assisting Examining Board. When not at work, she loves Ukrainian dancing and spending time with her husband and two daughters.
Nicole
Registered Dental Hygienist
Nicole is a registered dental hygienist who graduated from the University of Alberta in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science, Dental Hygiene specialization, and has been working for Dr Caruk ever since. One of her favorite things about her job is building relationships with her patients to help them feel more at ease in our office. Nicole lives on an acreage with her husband and two kids and loves spending time outside with them. She also enjoys woodworking, photography, and clay shooting, and is the organizer of a clay shooting fundraiser event for the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation called Targets for Tots.
Colleen
Dental Administrator
Colleen has been working as a dental administrator for Brush Dental since 2018. She was born and raised in Edmonton and has worked in the dental industry for many years. Colleen will be happy to answer any questions you may have about your appointments or insurance benefits. When not at work, she enjoys gardening, cooking, reading and spending time with her family and friends.
